Arturo Rios Diaz
Lead Resident - Plastic Surgery
Arturo is currently a senior resident in plastic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his general surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University in 2022 and is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. Before specializing in surgery, Arturo completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the Center for Surgery and Public Health, a collaborative venture of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health. During this time, he also received a Postgraduate Degree in Applied Biostatistics from the Harvard Catalyst Education Program. Additionally, he continued his involvement in research activities during his surgical training and completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Clinical Outcomes Research at the University of Pennsylvania’s Division of Plastic Surgery prior to his plastic surgery residency.
Arturo aims to combine his passion for research and surgery in a career focused on reconstructive plastic surgery in an academic setting. He is particularly interested in improving patient care by integrating health services, clinical outcomes, and patient-focused research. He is also committed to enhancing the mission of the Center for Surgical Health, which focuses on providing surgical care to underserved communities.
