Carrie Z. Morales is a PGY-2 resident in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated from Tufts University in 2015 with majors in Biology and Child Development. Dr. Morales received her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 2021 where she was awarded the Ari Frosh Memorial Award for Advocacy and Social Justice in Medicine. She spent dedicated research time working at the NYU Department of Population Health on an NIH stroke disparities study and as a Craniofacial Research Fellow in the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Carrie has authored over 30 original manuscripts and disseminated research through presentations on both national and international stages. She is interested in pursuing a career in academic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with a focus on subspecialty surgical service delivery to underserved populations. Dr. Morales seeks inspiration in her work from her family, friends, and patients and currently resides in Philadelphia with her wife and dog.
In her free time Carrie enjoys running and long distance cycling.
