Sophia Pringle
Patient Coordinator, Surgical Support Program
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Sophia graduated from Saint Joseph’s University in 2023, with a B.S. in Health Sciences and English. During her time in undergrad, she acted as co-president of her school’s Black Student Union and head student coordinator for a volunteer group that mentored pre-teen girls.
Sophia is passionate about working to reduce health disparities and dismantling the systems that perpetuate them. With this passion, she has previously worked as a research assistant through the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics SUMR scholar program. During her time in this program, she conducted research on two projects, one of which studied the effects of transportation barriers on the treatment of gynecologic cancer and patient enrollment in clinical trials. The second project focused on evaluating Penn’s Master of Public Health curriculum for its use of antiracist teaching practices. Sophia is excited to be a member of the CSH team making strides toward health equity in a unique way!
In her free time, Sophia is a plant mom and an avid audiobook listener. Additionally, she enjoys baking, writing poetry and binge-watching reality TV.
