Jenny Lynn-Morrison
Jenny Morrison is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Surgery, Division of Thoracic Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) as well as the Manager for the Surgical Sub-Specialty Advanced Practice Providers at HUP. Jenny is the Chair of the Advanced Practice Provider Steering Committee as well as an active member of the Advanced Practice Professional Development Committee at HUP. Jenny previously served as the Co-Chair of the Housestaff and Advanced Practice Provider Quality Committee. In this role, Jenny partnered with various team members to work on a project around identifying health care bias in providers. Jenny earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boston College in 2005 and completed the Adult Acute Care NP Program earning a Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008. After practicing as a Thoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for several years, Jenny went back to school to obtain her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Villanova University in 2013. In addition to volunteering with the Esophagectomy Support Group since 2010, Jenny’s doctoral project focused on the need for an increase in pre-operative education for patients undergoing an esophagectomy. Jenny formerly served as a part-time Adjunct Faculty member at the School of Nursing, helping with undergraduate simulation classes and the graduate Physical Assessment class.
In her role as Manager, Jenny is working with the Department of Surgery leadership to expand the role of the Surgery APP and continues to partner with Surgery Residency Leadership and Surgical Nursing Leadership to build interdisciplinary teams at HUP 34th Street and HUP Cedar.
